Eastern Mill near Dronninglund Castle

From 1851 and up to the twentieth century, Eastern Mill (Øster Mølle) grinded wheat, barley, etcetera for Dronninglund Castle (Dronninglund Slot) and later supplied the castle with electricity. The exhibition of the mill´s history and of grinding is open to the public from May 12 - Sept. 15 from 11am - 4pm.

The trees planted around the lake of Eastern Mill are of different species and do not originally belongs to Vendsyssel, but are planted for experimental purposes and recreation.  

It is allowed to fish in the lake. You can buy a fishing license at Brønderslev Business and Tourism (Brønderslev Erhver og Turisme, Bredgade 60, 9700 Brønderslev).


Dorf wind mill

Storskovvej 39, Dorf, 9330 Dronninglund

There is one and only mill at the Jutlandic ridge (Jyske Aas) in Dorf, a town located in the North of Dronninglund with a fabulous history.  

Here, you will find a water mill from the 1600´s, a Dutch wind mill which was built in 1887 as assistant mill to the water mill and a big four-winged mill farm with buildings from around 1900-1925. Today, the farm functions as a museum of cultural history.
