In Dronninglund Storskov (Dronninglund Great Forest) and at Jyske Ås (The Jutlandic Ridge), there are excellent possibilities for hiking and experiencing the fantastic surroundings of the area. You may try the beech wood tour, the softwood forest tour or the moor tour which are three marked routes in Dronninglund Storskov.
You can get a map of the area at the parking lots by the Moor and at Storskovvejen as well as at the Business- & Tourist Office in Brønderslev (Brønderslev Erhvervs- og Turistcenter, Bredgade 60, 9700 Brønderslev).
Foot- and bicycle paths
You can follow the marked foot- and bicycle path at Jyske Ås. The national route 3 is the highway route, where it is possible to spend the night at the primitive camp areas. The highway route is the so-called army road because it stretches from Northern Jutland to Southern Jutland. In the old days it was the express way and it was convenient for travellers. The route goes from Dronninglund to Øster Vrå and you may spend the night at three different camp grounds:
Stenbakken Jyske Ås: The camp is at the farm Stenbakken west of Dorf. We encourage you to take an evening walk in the small village of Dorf, so you could see the village pond, the mill and the church.
Slettingen Jyske Ås: The camp is located at Jyske Ås. There is a reference to the camp at Hærvejsruten 3.
Lunken Jyske Ås: This camp is located at Jyske Ås, the protected state-owned forest estate. Nymølle Bæk, Fejborg Bakke, Grevmose, Bollebakke and Slettingen are located closer to the protected area. There are marked routes in the area.
Sømosen: The place is located in the southern part of The Great Forest of Dronninglund (Dronninglund Storskov) between the high hills in Jyske Ås. The boarders can be seen on the Sømose area which are marked with white.
