Dronninglund Castle was originally called Hundslund Convent. In the twelfth century, the king decided that nuns from the Benedictine Order should stay there. Later on the castle got less humble owners such as Queen Charlotte Amalie, who in the year 1690 renamed the castle Dronninglund (´queen´s grove). Today, the buildings have been converted to a hotel and course centre, an alteration made with great respect for the historical settings.
The church is open every day.
